A Writer's Objectives

Daily Posts

Want to follow my blog, but only for a few reasons? Just curious to see what this blog is all about? Following is a list of the things I will be doing for each day on this blog. I hope you will join me!

Sunday: Six Sentence Sunday. I will post six sentences, either random or not (depending on the day) from a piece of my writing. This is not something I created myself, and if you follow the link, you will find that many bloggers participate in this. (There is a chance that I may choose not to do a post for this some Sundays, but those will be explained if the occur.)

Monday: Excerpt or Poem. I’ll be posting an excerpt from a short story or novel that I have written (I might drift into sharing fanfiction, but I doubt it. While it helps me hone my writing skills, being a writer of fanfiction is not something I am entirely proud of) for you to read, or a poem that I’ve done. I welcome any and all comments, whether they be simply ‘Good piece’ ‘This is great but (insert constructive criticism here)’ or a whole mess of critique.  If the piece I share from is available online, I will typically share a link so you, my readers, can read the whole thing. Otherwise, you’ll have to wonder.

Tuesday: On this day I will post random blog posts full of useful, or potentially useless, information. These posts will not always be related to writing; I could be having a bad day and just need to vent somewhere or be having a wonderful day and need to share it. I may also choose to share artwork I’ve done, or promote other artists I am fond of (both visual and verbal artists). However, the majority of the posts on these days will be related to writing. As I have done in the past, they will be tips and tricks I’ve learned over time, thoughts about certain aspects of writing that I want to share, stories about my own experiences, and other various bits and bobs. I may also have guest bloggers on this day. This day is kind of a ‘wild card’ day.

Wednesday: Writing Prompts galore! On this day, I will post a writing prompt of some sort. This could simply be something called a ‘Spark Word’, where I will post a word that is meant to ‘spark’ an idea. It could also be a very elaborate piece of plot I put out, expecting someone to grab hold of it and run. Then again, it could simply be one sentence that I ask be used as the first sentence, and the writer must build from there. I ask that, if anyone chooses to use these prompts, they share them with me. In the comment section, post the link to wherever your piece of writing can be found(deviantART, writing forums, your own blog, etc.) If you do not have anywhere online to post the writing, you are welcome to either use the comment section to place your story, or email me at: FantasieAutor@gmail.com with either an attachment or the story as the body of the email.

Thursday: On this day I will be participating in Thursday 13. This is not something I created myself, and if you follow the link, you will find that many bloggers participate in this. There are no themes, for this. You simply make a list of thirteen things (anything) and post it as your blog entry that day. There will, of course, be some weeks that I can’t think of thirteen things to list and will do something different for the day. But again, those days will be addressed when they occur.

Friday: On Fridays, I will be doing something called Fast Fiction Friday. This is something I came up with on my own, however I am aware it is not an original idea. There are old blogs out there dedicated to ‘Flash Fiction Fridays’ and other various plays on the subject. On Fast Fiction Fridays I will post a short story, a piece of flash fiction, for you to read. The pieces will all be 100-300 words. I highly encourage others to join in! While I post them here, I also post the stories on deviantART, and encourage people there to join in as well. As with writing prompts, I ask that if you join me for Fast Fiction Fridays, you share with me.

Saturday: This is another ‘wild card’ day. The description is basically identical to Tuesday’s, however the material may vary a little more. Saturday is the weekend, and I tend to feel more creative on weekends than I do during the week, so the posts, while similar, may be a little more fun on this day than Tuesdays.
