A Writer's Objectives

Fast Fiction Friday

Trying out my favorite style of writing in 2nd person this week. Let me know what you think!

You follow the man you just met through a small, oval door. The space on the other side is tiny, cramped and claustrophobic, but you suddenly feel like it is huge. The man and his gentle smile seem miles away even though he is right beside you. You want out, but the door has just shut and you now know there is no turning back.

He smiles at you and lays his hand on your shoulder. You think he is trying to reassure you, but you’re pretty sure you’ve made a grave mistake. Nodding, you allow him to help you into the special clothing he’s picked out for you. It’s larger on you than it looked like it might be, but you aren’t entirely worried about the way you look.

Lastly, you allow him to embrace you. He pulls you close to him, your back against his front, and then makes sure you can’t break free. You’re okay with this; it’s new, it’s interesting, and it is taking your mind off from the task. You try to relax against him and he laughs, a slow rumble that you feel in your own body. He warns you that you won’t be relaxed for long, and you mentally curse him for reminding you why you are there with him.

He holds you closer to him and whispers that it is time. You let him lead you away from your purse. You briefly wonder if you remembered to grab cash to pay him with. At last, he stops moving and the silence that spreads is full of your nervous energy.

“Are you ready?” he asks you. You simply nod, your voice refuses to work. He opens the door again.

And then he jumps out of the plane.

I ask that if you join me for Fast Fiction Fridays, you share with me. In the comment section, post the link to wherever your piece of writing can be found(deviantART, writing forums, your own blog, etc.) If you do not have anywhere online to post the writing, you are welcome to either use the comment section to place your story, or email me at: FantasieAutor@gmail.com with either an attachment or the story as the body of the email.

  1. Oh goodness… I laughed so freakin’ hard at the ending because… yeah. That was not what I was expecting. And now I feel like a terrible person. xD
